This Cinnamon Apple Pie Oatmeal recipe is the perfect healthy way to start the day. It makes an easy breakfast that’s perfect for Fall!
Whenever Fall rolls around the whole “eat the rainbow” thing tends to go out the window because somehow it seems like all the best Fall foods are various shades of brown… but I’m going with it! I can’t help it if oatmeal, nut butters, and apple butter are all in the “brown family”. If you haven’t tried topping your morning oatmeal with sautéed apples and apple butter then you’ve been missing out! This has got to be the coziest possible breakfast to start your day with.
To make this Apple Pie Oatmeal you will need:
- nut milk
- rolled oatmeal
- banana
- cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- vanilla protein powder (this one is my favorite)
- apple
- maple syrup
- apple butter (try this recipe)

Description
This Cinnamon Apple Pie Oatmeal recipe is the perfect healthy way to start the day. It makes an easy breakfast that’s perfect for Fall!
Ingredients
- 1 cup nut milk
- 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oatmeal
- 1/2 chopped banana
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of salt
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (optional)
- 1/2 chopped apple
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- apple butter (to top. Optional)
Instructions
- For the oatmeal: In a small saucepan combine nut milk, oatmeal, chopped banana, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Cook on the stove on low (as it cooks mash the banana slightly with a fork). Once the oatmeal has finished cooking and absorbed all of the liquid (5-10 minutes) stir in the vanilla protein powder.
- For the apples: in a saucepan combine the chopped apple, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and a splash of water.
- Cook until the apple is soft and the water has evaporated.
- Top oatmeal with sautéed apples, apple butter, and anything else you want (I also added peanut butter)
Notes
You can use store bought apple butter if you want, here’s a good one to try. But really nothing can beat homemade apple butter, this recipe is so easy and delicious!
