Cinnamon Swirled Apple Butter Bread: a soft and moist loaf made with the most amazing apple butter, fresh apples, and a delicious cinnamon sugar swirl.

Cinnamon apple butter bread

So truth be told I brainstormed up (yes I know that’s not a word but go with me on this people) this recipe 100% because I have about a gallon of my Mom’s Homemade Slow Cooker Honey Apple Butter sitting in my fridge just begging to be used. Now if you haven’t ever made your own apple butter then trust me when I say you are missing out! It literally couldn’t be easier and then you end up with the most luscious spread just waiting to be used in all of your topping needs….. and now in all of your baking needs!

See I’ve seen tons of apple breads out there using applesauce but then I thought, why not use apple butter? It’s smoother, it’s way tastier, and it’s honestly way more flavorful! This this delicious Cinnamon Swirled Apple Butter Bread was born! It’s moist, it’s absolutely jam-packed with all the Fall apple flavors, and it makes for the most delicious breakfast or snack. Trust me, I know you’re going to love this one!

Let’s Take a Look at Some of the Ingredients:

  • Almond Flour – Almond flour is one of my favorite flours to bake with because it contains more nutrients than all purpose flour.
  • Old Fashion Rolled Oatmeal – I don’t recommend using steel cut oatmeal, I haven’t tried using instant but that should also work.
  • Cinnamon
  • Coconut Oil – You can also use melted butter
  • Coconut Sugar – Personally, I love the lighter taste of coconut sugar plus I’m a fan of it being a little on the “healthier” side as far as granulated sugars go. However, this could easily be swapped for white sugar or a lighter brown sugar.
  • Apple Butter – I used this homemade recipe but you can also use your favorite store-bought.
  • Eggs – I haven’t tried using a flax “egg” but if you do, let me know in the comments!
  • Vanilla extract
  • Apples – Any variety you like will work!

Description

Cinnamon Swirled Apple Butter Bread: a soft and moist loaf made with the most amazing apple butter, fresh apples, and a delicious cinnamon sugar swirl.

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted (or butter)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 cup apple butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 apple, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp flour (I used more almond flour)

Cinnamon Swirl:

  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together coconut oil, coconut sugar, apple butter, eggs, and vanilla until well incorporated.
  4. Pour dry ingredients into your wet ingredients and stir until all is well combined.
  5. Toss the chopped apple in 1 tbsp flour (this helps the apple pieces not to sink in the loaf) then fold into the batter.
  6. In a small bowl mix together the coconut sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
  7. Pour 1/2 of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle 3/4 of the cinnamon sugar on top, then pour and spread the remaining batter. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top of the loaf then bake in the oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let your loaf cool entirely before removing and slicing.

Notes

  1. Note that if under-baked, this will be a very moist loaf. Make sure not to under-bake it!
  2. I like using my homemade apple butter recipe but you can also use store bought.
