Dessert couldn’t be easier or tastier than this super easy, no-hassle Healthy Apple Crisp! So crisp, sweet, and delicious you would never know that it’s gluten, dairy, and refined-sugar free.

Ingredients

Apple Base:

  • 5 cups peeled thinly sliced Granny Smith apples (about 5 apples)
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Crisp Topping:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oatmeal
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon 
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts 
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup 
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. In a large bowl mix together the apples, corn starch, coconut sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Pour into a pie pan and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl mix together the oatmeal, almond flour, cinnamon, salt. nuts, coconut sugar, maple syrup, and coconut oil and mix until well combined. Sprinkle crumble evenly on top of apple mixture.
  4. Place in oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  5. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Best served with vanilla ice cream

Notes

  1. I like Granny Smith apples because they’re on the tart side but any type of apple will work.
